More visitors are coming to Circum-Baikal Railway
From May to September 2015 more than 49 thousand tourists visited a famous Baikal landmark - Circum-Baikal Railway. Attraction is a recognized as an object of cultural heritage which has historical, architectural and scientific value. Circum-Baikal Railwaywas built 1899 – 1905 and it connects Mysovaya station with Baikal station. While travelling on this route, passengers enjoy splendid views of Baikal nature.
In 2015, most of visitors came here as a part of organized tourist groups. Their tours also included Irkutsk, Slyudyanka and Port Baikal. As for travelling on Circum-Baikal Railway, majority of visitors rode on regular suburban trains whereas over 6 thousand visitors chose to ride retro trains.
In the same interval of 2014, the number of passengers on the road was about 42 thousand, which shows that the popularity of this amazing landmark is growing.
