The bridge between Russia, PRC and JAO will be included in the "New Silk Way"
The international infrastructure project will be completed in 2018. The bridge will stretch above the Amur river for over 2 kilometers, with 309 meters of construction located on the Russian side. During the first years of exploitation it will be possible to carry through the bridge up to 5.2 million tons of goods. Later the carrying capacity of the bridge will reach 21 million tons. Moreover, engineers have considered and enabled the passing possibility through the bridge for Russian and Chinese types of trains.
It is expected that the new railway will create the path for new export channels, specifically within the framework of the “New Silk Way” concept. With the construction of the bridge the Chinese North-East, which is overwhelmed with the production of the heavy industry, would gain a possibility to transport the excess products through the Far-East part of Trans-Siberian railway to the seaports, and from there to the logistics sea centers in South Korea and Shanghai.
Within the scope of the created Jewish Autonomous Oblast (JAO), the territory of rapid development, several projects of hotels, warehouses, shopping malls are being realized to give an infrastructure support to the new railway connection hub. from the Russian side, the Far East Development Fund is in charge of the project.
