Classical Music Will Play in Novosibirsk Subway during the Trans-Siberian Art Festival
During Trans-Siberian Art Festival Novosibirsk subway passengers will hear fragments of classical music performed by the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, press service of Novosibirsk Regional Philharmonic reports.
"Every day, at all metro stations a new music piece will sound. Of course, we want as many people as possible to immerse in the atmosphere of classic art, and not only at the concerts, but just going down to the subway," - the General Director of the Philharmonic Tatiana Lyudmilina said.
She noted that the music pieces subway passengers will hear were selected based on stations’ acoustics. These are mostly slow pieces with a relatively clear rhythmic and harmonic structure.
"First of all, the list includes the works by Tchaikovsky, whose anniversary the Trans-Siberian Art Festival is dedicated to this year, as well as famous music pieces by Brahms, Smetana, and Ravel," - she explained.
This event organized by Novosibirsk Philharmonic together with the Novosibirsk Subway will be held from March 20th to April 5th.
2nd Trans-Siberian Art Festival under the direction of Vadim Repin will be held in Novosibirsk from March 22nd to April 5th. This year the concerts will be held in Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Moscow, Iskitim and Berdsk, but Novosibirsk will remain the center of the festival.
Within 15 days 15 concerts featuring stars of the world stage will be held in Novosibirsk and suburbs. The festival is supported by the Government of the Novosibirsk Region.
